THE LADIES, THE WISH, AND THE WARDROBE- THE SEQUEL

Here is a brand spanking new video that rachel, marla, and i made two nights ago! <3

Best Vintage Inspired Winning Look- Weardrobe

On monday, I won the Best Vintage Inspired Look on Weardrobe.com .
I won a fifty dollar gift card to an online vintage store called Spanish Moss Vintage.
I can't wait to pick what i am going to buy!
I was the top picture on 'whos wearing what?' on the weardrobe home page for a few days, and now i am number four.
After winning the contest, i had to complete an interview;

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF.

i am a sixteen year old lactose intolerant vegetarian, whom is overflowing with passion and love. i am obsessed with art, reading, thinking, traveling, magazines, painting, sketching, pottery, lockets, animals, dresses, and australian accents. astrologically, i am a total scorpio. a november baby. i can come off really cool, detached, and unemotional, but like the saying goes "still waters run deep," underneath my cool exterior is soul filled with intense passion, strong will and drive. i am constantly asking questions. not to question people exactly, but i just like to know how things work. call me curious george, if you will.

WHAT ARE YOU WEARING IN THE PHOTO AND HOW DID YOU DECIDE TO PUT IT TOGETHER?

In my winning look, i am wearing a floral dress from costa blanca, a long pinkish red BDG cardigan from urban outfitters, a pair of black flats, and a gold beaded & braided necklace from urban outfitters. i chose to wear the dress is so comfy! i always find myself cold though, so i threw on the cardigan for extra warmth. for the picture, i completed the look with a vintage luggage bag that my mom bought probably eight years ago from an auction. i actually use this sometimes for a luggage bag when i go to my dads! it fits so much!

WHERE DO YOU GAIN YOUR STYLE INSPIRATION?

I gain my style inspiration from everywhere! magazines, paintings, books, old family pictures, celebrities, pin up girls, marilyn monroe, other weardrobers, people on the street, you name it! for instance, take the quote by Coco Chanel, “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." I only discovered this quote last night, but its what i already live by!

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT GOES IN/OUT OF YOUR CLOSET?

Everything comes out of my closet! my clothes are everywhere, you wouldn't even know i had a floor underneath it all. in my mums opinion, my room is a living hell, but its just how i live. i like to see all of my stuff together in one place, like a collage.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING IN YOUR CLOSET? AND WHAT DO YOU FIND YOURSELF WEARING THE MOST?

the favourite thing in my closet is the dress i am wearing in the photo. my floral costa blanca dress is my go-to item, and no matter how hard i try to wear other things, i always find myself back in it!

WHAT GENERAL FASHION ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER GIRLS YOUR AGE?

Don't go with the flow! break the mold, and be yourself. don't look to current trends and celebrities to tell you what's hot and what's not, decide yourself! sure, they can provide a little help and inspiration, but in the end, what is created by you is what is beautiful and unique.

FASHION IS EVERYWHERE.

Physic Dreaming & Rebuilding My Wardrobe

Last night, my sister dreamt of our dad buying a bag of smart food popcorn. When she woke up today, around 1 in the afternoon, she came down stairs to find my dad with a bag of newly bought smart food. he had just arrived home from the grocery store, and now my sister is thinking.. "what the hell.. !?"
Phsyic dreams are really odd, and frankly, mind boggling. i find that any dream is really mind boggling, because mine are always really odd. anyway, how weird is that!?!

On another note, i would like to mention that i am getting so many amazing clothing donations from a local thrift shop, because the lady who owns it heard about the fire. anyway, new clothes are always exciting, especially when they are free!!

swimming freaks!

"Family counts their blessings after fire destroys home" Another article, yet far more acurate and personal, about the fire.

Amy Northmore Allen is thanking her lucky stars she and her family are safe after a fire destroyed most of their house on Chatham Street on Friday night.
Northmore Allen and her daughters Kendra, 16, and Marla, 14, weren’t home when the fire started around 5 p.m., July 3. They had recently bought the circa 1912 house at 104 Chatham St. and were in the midst of restoring it to its former glory, a painstaking process ongoing since March.
It’s a pretty house that passersby might recall, the one with an overabundance of roses climbing up the front porch.
The fire was discovered by a neighbour who noticed smoke coming out of the windows. He went around to the back of the house and opened a door and was met by flames. He ran next door and the homeowners called 911.
Firefighters were on the scene within five minutes.
“My mantra is when I start to spiral down and start to cry and get really upset about all the work that I’ve done, I just think that it could have been me in the house, it could have been the girls and we’re still alive,” says Northmore Allen.
She was at work when she got a call from her mortgage broker who told her that her house was on fire.
“I dropped the phone and came over here. It was just mayhem on the street and I lost it. It was a nightmare. I cried a lot, we’ve cried a lot,” she says.
Nellie, the family cat, escaped to the roof after the window shattered from the heat and a neighbour was able to entice her to come down. A hamster was rescued from the basement by firefighters.
The house has been a labour of love for the family and they had almost completed the transformation.
“I was almost ready to reveal the before and after and for it to just all go up in smoke, you have to put it in perspective,” says Northmore Allen. “I could be in the burn unit or not even here.”
An earlier media report that said there were no belongings in the house was wrong, says Northmore Allen. She says everything they owned was in there and they have nothing but the clothes on their back.
Marla, a soft spoken girl, is still in shock and having a hard time dealing with the loss of personal things, including a baby calendar with photos of her as a baby. She burst into tears as she tried to express her sense of loss and her mother reached to comfort her.

SO, i am almost done the vampire diaries! not the complete series, but i am just about finished volume 2. it is amazing, and i am so excited for the show. but.. it seems way to different to handle.. i mean HELLO!? the town is fells church, not mystic falls.. and stephan is from europe. not mysticf falls. "Investigators probe fire cause ". more info about the fire. an artice from a local newspaper.

** FIRST OFF, the newspaper artice has a few things wrong. they say that onoly a few of our belongings were in the house, but in reality, everything we owned was in our house at the time of the fire. also, the damage was an estimated $100, 000. i am quite sad to see that whomever wrote the article, wrote their piece to make it seem as though nothing was ruined.

Investigators probe fire cause
Fire investigators are still trying to determine what caused a fire to break out at a home on Chatham Street on Friday.
Firefighters at the scene of the late-afternoon fire didn't feel comfortable determining the cause of the blaze. The house was empty and under renovations at the time of the fire.
Damage to the home is estimated at $80,000, but the cost could have been higher had someone been inside.
"It was hot enough to kill. If someone had been inside, they would have died," said assistant deputy fire chief Gord Ball.
Fire inspectors were at the home during the weekend trying to determine what caused the fire to break out. Investigators were not sure how the fire started or whether foul play was involved and likely won't make a determination for days.
"We're just investigating," Ball said. "It may be nothing ... but we just want to verify."
The fire marshal's office was also called to assess the home.
Passers-by noticed smoke coming from the home on Chatham Street just before 5 p. m. Friday. One went to a neighbouring home and asked the resident inside to call the fire department.
The other went to see what was amiss at the house. He tried to enter the house to see if there was anyone inside, but turned around once he saw flames.
Firefighters arrived in less than five minutes of receiving the call. Three trucks lined Chatham Street, a narrow roadway north of Princess Street just to the east of the Memorial Centre, as thick, black smoke billowed into the air.
The fire burned inside a room at the rear of the house and thick smoke filled the home. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and then pumped smoke out of the home.
A search of the home revealed that there was no one inside. Firefighters did remove a hamster from the basement and found the family cat in the backyard.
On Saturday, yellow tape surrounded the house, lining the sidewalk of Chatham Street. A Kingston fire department investigators truck sat in the driveway.
The frame of a rear window on the home leaned against the blue-panelled side wall of the house, near the empty opening where it once sat. Beyond the opening was nothing but the colour black.
The fire department said there was damage throughout the home. Smoke damage was noticeable throughout the house, coating everything in a jet-black hue on the upper level, main level and a little of the basement.
There was also water damage that trickled its way downstairs, Ball said.
The family that owns the home only had a few of their belonging in the basement. Ball said there was no furniture on the main floor of the home.
Some contents of the basement were damaged, but not significantly, he said.
"Her contents are in the basement, so they have smoke damage, no fire damage, but they're not gone," Ball said.
"There's a whole pile of good things we can say because there's a whole lot of bad things that didn't happen."

something terribe has happened.

i feel as if i am in some one elses dream. no, a nightmare. my house, that my mother has been working ever so hard to get ready for us to move into, has had a fire. i dont know that cause of it yet, as it just happened today, but they are investagating it as i write this. mom says that the house is going to be on watch all night, and maybe they will let us in tomorrow to see the damage. we have not been allowed in yet. im sure, though, all of my clothes, personal items, books, and belongings have been destroyed. i looked into the window, tears welling up, and everything was burn, black, and ruined. i feel sick, and unsure of everything. how could something so perfect suddenly become so wrong? so horrible? "..but i loved that house", mom said, through her tears. it breaks my heart, because this house was such a dream, such a god-sent, for us. we were just getting ready to settle in there this weekend, and thats were mom has been staying. at our house, trying to get it ready. we thought things were turing around.. looking up. and i keep asking my self, begging for the answer to the question that everyone has, why do such terrible things happen to such good people?
